I talked to Ted today, and I got the five piece for $550 (they originally asked for 1100!), they are requesting a hotel room. So now we need to figure out how to get them a hotel room for cheap, or even better yet, for free. Who can we talk to in order to get that done? Haley? The Glyndon?

aren't they from Lexington??? we may be able to findthem one at the glyndon.... or its off exit 104 but I have a friend that works at one of those hotels and I can ask him...but I am assuming if they want a hotel they are going to want one here in town!
If any body else has anything please let me know...other than Brandi I have no information to give at the meeting tomorrow! So if you are even TALKING to a band let me know!!

I have a friend that works at Day's Inn and she knows the owner very well who is a very nice person. She is going to ask her about giving us a couple of rooms for one night in return for advertising the Day's Inn on our posters. I'll let you all know as soon as i hear anything!

I'm definitely down to play at the event. I'm not positive for sure if my counterpart in "Tryptamine" is available for the show, but I'll get ahold of him soon and find out. If he's not available, I play with another group ("Spontu Scalem") that said they can do it for sure. Tryptamine is more of a trip-hop group, and Spontu Scalem is more of a jam-band. Both groups are on myspace if you want to check them out. You won't hurt my feelings if you don't like em. I also have some friends in Lexington that play in other bands and am in the process of getting them involved.

thanks Tristin for getting on here and letting me know your ideas...as soon as I get back from class this afternoon...and before digging into my book that I am obsessed with...I will check into all of them and let you know my thoughts!! But if we can get them for an incredibly low price or even for free that would be awesome!! And in fact I think we have Kuntry Noix involved...so that could be our three-four groups!!! Thanks for letting me know!!

Hey Chelsea! Thanks for the feedback. To follow up with my last post, I did speak with Ben Lacy earlier today. He is definitely on board. However, the cheapest I could get him for is $250, being that he is definitely thought of as a headlining name (and that's his typical rate). I also spoke with my bandmates in Spontu Scalem, and we are on board to do the show for FREE. Again, Spontu Scalem is dancie improv music. So, if it's decided that everyone agrees that we play at it, as well as Kuntry Noix (both for free), then $250 for Ben Lacy shouldn't be an issue. Again, that is if everyone on the committee agrees to have Ben. I think having Polka, hip-hop, dancie jam-band, and a virtuosic solo guitarist would be a nice diverse mix for our crowd. All of which would only take up $800 (out of $1,200) of the theoretical grant money. Well..I've got to crash. See you all bright and early.

Tristin,
I discussed this with Brandi and we decided due to time constraints and since we are spending $550 on the HEADLINING polka band... that we are just going to dedicate Player's Club to Ted & The Polka Dots and Kuntry Noiz. HOWEVER! If you can get Ben Lacy for that $250 and we could let him be the headliner of Creative Arts by Sherry. considering her is acoustic. But you need to stress to him that it is a CRAWL and that he will only be playing for at least 45 minutes...and if he doesn't like that idea then we will have to go a different direction for that venue. Thank you for keeping me posted...it is much appreciated! Just let me know what is going on with him...and if you have ANY questions PLEASE ask me!!!
THanks
