As you all know, at the meeting, Caleb commented that my poster ideas were "tacky" because of their clip-art. I totally agree! On our teaser ad, I think we should NOT include an image at all. I myself do not watch Target Vision, all I have to go on is what the website says would be a good slide, and those dont even include images. So, correct me if Im wrong, we dont need one. This will give us plenty of time to come up with a GREAT logo! And will keep the teaser just that... a teaser. I'll upload the background and font on friday morning. You have until then to write back comments on this. (I have included the changes we made in the meeting.)

April also said we need to choose something and do it. I had mentioned getting input because I personally was uncomfortable with creating the face of EVERYONE'S event... BUT doing so would be impossible... and after talking with Jill and Tyler who totally stepped up with ideas, I know that we can TOTALLY do an awesome job!

I am a graphic designer in least meaning of the word... LOL... which means I was an art major, can draw and actually have created designs for companies logos that I actually SOLD to them... So, I am comfortable with doing the "drawing" aspect, but we need to meet to work on this together. And we also need to see if we can get someone from the art department, preferabely a graphic designer to do the work so it looks totally professional. Which leads me to new business.... a meeting.

When would be good for you guys to meet? How about MONDAY? Anyone interested in trying to get someone from the art department on board for the logo????

*We need this DONE by the end of next week so we have time to put the posters together with the band information... ticket prices... etc.

THANKS!!!!!
~Whit

Whitney, I didnt think the artwork was tacky.
I mean I agree that most clip art is and we should seek original work, but that didn't look bad and hope you didnt feel bad about that.
However, i guess it is true that for our teaser and everything we should just be focused on the information and keep it simple.

As far as the meeting goes, Monday works for me. Im pretty flexible this semester tho so i probably wont have many or any issues if others cannot meet on Monday.

I know we were talking about all of the side-walk chalk advertising across campus last night at the meeting. Ha while sometimes I do think that is tacky and annoying at times, It really does get your attention...maybe we should consider but we might not even have to.

Thanks Tyler!

Thanks for your reply;) It meant alot!

About the sidewalk thing... that is a good idea! What did you have in mind??? What about doing that the night before we have the thing at Powell to send people to powell corner??? (I realize people go there anyways... but it is advertisement! lol I love the idea!)

I'm pretty flexible about times too... I'm free EVERYDAY past noon... lol. I have no life! I know that Jill has a job, and may not be as open so I'll email her and see what time is best for her.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

I think it would be cool maybe in the beginning like a few weeks leading to the even to just write a German phrase or a few words just to get ppl wondering, ha maybe even googling.
Then closer to the event we can reveal and i like your idea of telling them to go to Powell corner

I like the chalk idea...
i know i am responding a little late to this.
At tonights meeting we need to also talk about our powell corner thing too, and look into getting the area booked for us, so we don't have conflicts with other groups who may have things set up as well.
Jill
see ya'll tonight
